ADHD

ADHD (medically: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is an expression of an interest-based nervous system that differs fundamentally from the motivation-based system of most people.

According to Dr. William Dodson, people with ADHD do not respond to importance, but to interest, urgency and variety. This basic neurological principle explains why those affected can be exceptionally efficient, creative, focused and full of energy in certain contexts - and appear blocked, disorganized or unmotivated in others.

ADHD is therefore not a disorder of attention, but a regulatory peculiarity: it is not a matter of attention being lacking, but rather that it is controlled situationally - by emotional relevance rather than by rationally set priorities. People with ADHD often experience intense emotions, a deep sense of social dynamics and a strong inner experience. Their impulses, ideas and feelings are not linear - they are fast, interconnected and often intuitive.
